    Murdoc: Thanks. Polyphony is when there are multiple independent melodic voices in a song occurring simultaneously. It creates a rich and complex musical texture. We think this is a good metaphor for our brain. We have multiple independent minds happening within the same body. We love music, so it makes sense that we would use that as a metaphor for our existence.

    The word kinnie is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I would physically die if I were to be called a Murdoc kinnie. I'm just Murdoc. I hate the word, and I want to never see it ever again. It's irritating. I don't care too much if anyone uses it for themselves, just don't call me that. It makes me look like a joke.

    We want to both use this account, but we can't come up with a name. I'm not particularly looking for anything like "the x system/collective", just a group name for us two. We don't have any ideas that relate to both of us other than our "source", which feels off limits and limited in creative potential. I'll probably be more active once we change the name.

    Woke up to the owls last night, and I saw one outside the window for the first time. It was originally on the house across the street. I saw it fly close by, and then it dived right in front of my window. :0 There is a great horned owl breeding pair that lives close by. I usually hear them in the fall, but I ocassionally hear them at other times.

    I went outside to see if I could hear them better, and the same owl was now on the house across from the backyard this time. It hooted for a long while to its mate and then flew away. It was a cool experience. I'm glad I got to see them before we move. It felt spiritual to me, I consider myself owl hearted.

    It has been so long of only hearing them, and then I saw one twice. It made me feel better, because I had an anxiety attack before I fell asleep. It made me realize that things are good, and they will get better. Things will change for us.

    Is a perma shift actually permanent, or is it just one that lasts a very long time?

    I don't think I experience shifting, because this is my fixed state. I guess it wouldn't be a shift if it doesn't ever... shift.

    There are times where I feel more connected, but it isn't like a shifting feeling inside of me. It just gets stronger for a bit.

    I'm starting out with writing less personal stuff, because if I learn by writing personal stuff I will get overwhelmed. I can make melodies and stuff. I can mostly read sheet music, but I am still learning how to read what key the song is in. For singing, all you have to do is practice. I've found that singing along with the song helps me correct my pitch so I can sing more on key in general.

    Joining band/choir in school was helpful. I'd recommend it if you can. Some schools also offer music classes, which helped me understand music theory. If you can do that, then maybe give it a try.
    I'm planning on making a few songs inspired by Lemon Demon's Spirit Phone as my first fully made songs, but I'll do a couple purely instrumental things for practice as well.

    Yeah we have music at our school and I have pretty good knowledge of like music theory from my piano lessons, but I'm too lazy and uncreative when it comes to writing melodies (also the only instrument t we have is the piano and that gives me bad vibes since I quit so) and I CANNOT sing high. I might try choir though, if it fits into my schedule.

    Guess who went to the beach and got the worst burn of his life because he hasn't been outdoors much in over a year?

    I had a bandaid on and when I took it off my skin looked very pale in comparison to the red skin around it. It's like that on most of both of my legs. My legs have been hurting for hours.

    I have once read that you can use honey to treat burns, but only if:

    The burn is less than 2 inches in diameter
    The skin isn't broken
    You don't experience intolerable pain

    And I don't know if it works for sunburn, so please ask a doctor about that.

    I went outside just recently and there were a lot of fireflies. I also saw what I though was a cat at first.... It was an opossum. Which is very cool! I love them. It seemed kinda small, but I also kept a good distance to not startle it. It was walking in the backyard along the fence. I haven't seen one in the wild before. I hope I can see the owl my dad saw around here before I leave.

    Cool wild animals I have seen in the last year: Coyotes (a bit too close, they were stalking me), hawks, vultures, a shark, an alligator, an opossum, fireflies (which I don't see often), a big jumping spider

    Butterflies let me pick them up for some reason. I just had one crawl on to my finger. It felt very delicate, so I set it down in the grass gently. It was white and a little bit blue. It was missing an antenna, but was otherwise fine. That made my day to be honest.

    I want birds to do this too. Butterflies used to fly away from me, but now they don't really react to me. Maybe some day I can get close to birds. (I'm half joking on that)
