  • Kin Name
    Velvet Wings
  • Kintype(s)
    Feline Cladotherian, Argonian {Daemon}
  • Kintype(s) Description
    Feline cladotherian: My feline shifts tend to be a hybrid mix of various cats. Amur leopard is the most prominent, but tiger, caracal, cougar, domestic cat and homotherium-like features are also commonly present. Being cladotherian all felines make up my identity, however those are the most prominent/common shifts.

    Argonian: A greenish brown argonian, digitigrade legs, webbed hands (and probably feet). On my head are small-medium sized horns and either feathers or spines (still trying to decipher my phantoms).
    I was part of a tribe of healers and spent much of my time gathering plants and herbs to create healing potions/balms. I was also skilled in magic, particularly restoration magics.

    {Daemon: As a daemon I'm sort of like a shifter/polymorph. I most commonly take mammal forms, my favorites being an american marten, flying squirrel, red panda and maned wolf. I'll take on mythical forms too, most commonly a small blue dragon/wyvern and various types of griffin-like creature(usually some sort of canine-bird mix). I usually choose which forms I take, although sometimes I'll shift subconsciously based on mine/V's mood/emotions. Sometimes I don't really have a form and just... exist.
    I believe myself to be a part of V's soul that exists independently, while still being inseparably linked to her.}

    I first joined the therian community back around 2000, on therianthropy.org (TO/The Awereness Forums).
    Since TO died I've joined many different therian/otherkin forums; Werelist, Wulf Howl/Kinmunity, Therian Wilderness, Forest Horizons, Fictionkin.com, and many others.

    Currently Kinmunity is the only otherkin related forum I actively post on, however I still lurk many others.

      Nice, that's one of my favourite game franchises of all time. And also, Argonians and Nords just so happen to be my favourite races! Also, how do you have so much info on your profile page?

  3. Do you consider nonhuman animals persons?

    I tend to think of person as referring to a human, so no, I don't consider non-human animals to be people. That doesn't mean I think people are superior or that animals don't have thought and feeling. I believe all animals to be individuals with personality and feeling. Some may be mostly instinct based while others may have more complex thoughts, but they're all individuals. I find it interesting regarding your experience of people referring to animals as "it". In my experience it's the norm to refer to animals as he/she or by their names if they're pets. I can only think of one person I used to know who referred to them as "it" and when they did so it tended to provoke negative responses from the people around.

  7. Healing herbs and a random goddess

    Just wanted to make a note of this for future reference. Healing herbs and plants have been on my mind a lot recently. Memories of gathering up plants to use for healing is how I remember spending much of my time as an argonian and I have the urge to do something similar now. I've always loved plants and have a house full of them, but all my indoor plants are for their aesthetics and the ones outside are grown for the wildlife, so it'd be nice to grow some herbs I can use myself. It's something I've had the strong urge to do for a while now and I'm planning to set aside an area of my garden to start growing some herbs. While looking up different types of healing herbs last night I had the random urge to search for gods associated with healing (looking up gods is not something I ever normally do or even think of). I skimmed through various sites and ended up on one with a big list of names. As I read through the list I felt as though I was searching for something, then near the end I found a name that made me pause... Airmed. Something about it just felt right and drew me in. After a moment I kept reading down the list to the end, then went back to the start and began to search for more info on each of the names. I looked up all the others first, thinking reading more about them may bring up something interesting (and I knew if I just skipped down to her name I'd end up never reading about any of the others). It was interesting, but nothing really caught my eye. Then I went back to the name which had made me pause. Airmed. Or Airmid/Airmeith, there seem to be a few different spellings from what I've seen so far. Reading about her was... strange. I found that not only was she known for healing, but for her knowledge and use of healing herbs. I won't go into too much detail about her as I'd just be quoting other sites, but everything I've read so far has seemed to resonate very strongly with me. I tend to be a pretty sceptical person and generally brush things like this off as coincidence. Maybe I'd heard of her in the past and my subconscious linked her with herbs. I don't know. But somehow this feels very important, it feels like it means something. It doesn't feel like a coincidence, it feels like there was some purpose to it all. I'll certainly be thinking on it some more. If anyone knows any good sources of info about Airmed, or if you have any suggestions for things I could grow in my garden please feel free to share. :)
  8. "Artificial" Meat - Would You Eat It?

    I might try it, although as someone who dislikes the taste of most meat it's not something I'd eat regularly. I do like the idea of it, though.
  9. Shiro said on the other thread that the servers are not official kinmunity servers, just servers run by users for users. So having more then one is no issue. :3 It'd probably be good for you to take a look at what sort of things the other server has and use some different mods and such in yours, that way there's more variety. What kind of server is it you're planning?
  10. Dreams that continue each night you sleep?

    It's very rare I remember my dreams these days, but I used to. I don't remember ever having dreams which continued on the next night, which is a shame because I'd love to revisit some dreams and see what happened next. I have had recurring dreams (sort of, like dreams which start off the same and have the same things happening but I often make different choices so things sometimes turn out differently), or dreams set in the same place or with similar themes. But they always seem to start off fresh rather than continue from where they left off.
  11. Welcome to the new Kinmunity!

    @Cipher Have you checked your notification settings here: https://www.kinmunity.com/followed/ The threads I followed on the old site all had their notifications turned off and I had to reenable them, but after changing the settings I seem to be getting notifications fine.
  12. When did you first realize you were Otherkin?

    I've always felt like a cat. As a young kid I think I was always a humanfeline mix. As I got older I began to dislike the feline part of myself and worry how others saw me. I tried to suppress it, which led to me burying the feline part of myself deep down but it'd still pop out randomly through intense shifts. I became pretty depressed about the whole thing and thought I was weird and crazy. Then I randomly stumbled on the term therianthropy while looking up werewolf mythology, and realised it explained my feelings and experiences. That was around 17 years ago now. Things have been much better since I began to understand myself and realised I wasn't alone.

  14. Major Changes Planned

    Yes, I wasn't thinking of counting past donations. :P I was just curious as I don't have enough to make large donations but could probably spare a small amount each week. Thanks.
  15. Major Changes Planned

    Do the donations of $50/100 have to be in one go, or would it still count if you make several small donations over time that add up to those amounts?
