Adding comments to your own posts

Hello! ^-^ I was wondering if there was any way I could add a comment (that isn't a reply to someone else's comment) to one of my own posts without it merging into the original topic. Sorry if there's some obvious answer that I'm missing, I haven't been here for very long...
