Rejected Bones for messages in chat

    As suggested by @ShiintoRyuu, it could be a good idea rewarding users for being active (sending messages) on chat.
    The problem of this idea could be some users intentionally spamming the chat room to get bones easily; to prevent this from happening, users who get caught spamming in order to get bones would be punished by having their bones set to zero and not earning bones for chat messages anymore.
    What do you all think about this?

    An idea could be that maybe it's set to give a set amount of bones when someone sends maybe.. 10 messages in each hour, so any more sent after that won't give any more bones till the next hour. This keeps a fair distribution of bones that encourages activity yet without encouraging spamming.

    I support this idea, as it would encourage people to use the chatroom often, and allow chatters that don't post often to earn bones. Spammers that are trying to earn bones should be chat-banned, and adjusted downward as opposed to losing all their bones (denying bones from chat messages still should be applied), especially if said spammer is a donator.

    Error | Kinmunity There likely is, so bones and trophies can be awarded for chat messages.

    I guess that would be a fair idea, but 10 messages an hour maximum being rewarded is way too strict a limit. Probably something closer to 50 messages an hour, if there is a limit?

    Well what I meant was that it would only take 10 messages to get to the bone cap per hour.

    An example:
    1 message gives 1 bone,
    so 10 messages gives 10 bones, but 11 messages doesn't give you any more past the 10 you already have.
    If you wanted to be kinder you can up the amount of bones given per message, or change the cap limit of bones. So it's not strict at all, it just stops possible spammers since it'd be quite easy to reach the cap. Then, come 1 hour later, you can get another 10 bones via 10 messages sent, and so on.

    You could set the amount to being lower per message if you wanted to set it to 60 messages, but it would take far longer to reach the cap, so might encourage people messaging too much.
    So 1 message gives 0.3 bones,
    so then 60 messages gives 18 bones, for example.

    I feel that 0.5 bones a message is ideal. That way 10 messages gives 5 bones, which is equivalent to a post.

    We intentionally do not give bones for chatroom participation. This is due to a variety of reasons:
    • Our KinCash system does not currently have a method of doing that, to add one would require custom coding to be done by us.
    • The chatroom is provided as a connivence to our users. The heart of our community is the forums. We reward users for providing quality content to the forums for others to read and enjoy for years to come, and do not feel that same quality is achieved in chat messages.
    • We already reward users for participating in our chatroom and on Discord, although not in a systematic fashion. We post exclusive KinCash redeem links during busy times in the chatroom in order to reward users for their participation.
    • It would be difficult to provide rewards to users of Discord, which we feel it would only be fair to reward for Discord participation if we're going to reward for chat participation.
    If this is an extremely popular suggestion, we could potentially consider it. But at the moment, it's probably not for the best. Remember if you like a suggestion, vote it useful.
