    Anyone else Kemetic or interested?
    I can answer questions!
I am of Kemetic Orthodox (an official religion)
I am a Shemsu of KO and my Shemsu name is Sonebiyinepu
    Meaning "Yinepu heals me"
My Divine Father is Yinepu (Anubis) and my Beloved is Amun-Ra

    Feel free to ask questions

What does having a divine father and beloved mean?
How does your religion effect your everday life?

(I hope these are good questions to ask!)

Through KO if one wants to get what's called an RPD they can after taking beginners class
This RPD finds out who your Divine Parents and or Beloved are
Divine Parents are the ones who helped create you
So like imagine a pair of glasses. The frame is your parents and the glass is your Beloved
Your Parents make the base of you
The Beloveds affects how you see things

And I find it affects me everyday. I always want to please my Father and Beloved
And I want to uphold Ma'at (peace and stabilty basically)

That's cool! I study the Kem spirituality and philosophy, though not of the KO. I study under The Earth Center of Maanu(you can google them easily), I have not yet decided to become an initiate so I do not have a Kem name. Anyway I'm curious how the two groups may differ. A few questions I have are:

Do you all practice writing and speaking Medu regularly?

Earth Center has heavy empahsis on honoring one's ancestors and there are dedicated days for "Ancestoral Holy Day" every 10 days when offerings are given, do you practice something similar?

Lastly, do you learn about Kemetic cultures that extended outside of Egypt or travel to Africa and visit kemetic monuments?

I'm not sure on the Medu (I'm personally not sure what it is), maybe some in KO do...
we do have holidays, lots of them!
For instance the Wag Festival (basically like Mexico's Day of the Dead) is happening currently. and during the end of July and beginning of Aug is our New year called Wep Ronpet. We have days for certain Netjer (what we call our Gods) for instance Sobek-Ra had a festival a few days ago. We have a ritual we do daily (or try to do daily) called Senut

We do learn about other African cultures/Egyptian cultures because they are connected. Some people do (if they can afford it) travel to Africa (I would love love love to do this!) My dream is to travel to Egypt and see the ancient Pyramids and all the beautiful statues (I would prob cry from the beauty of it!)

Ah sorry, the Medu or Medu Neter is the Kemetic language, the Heiroglyphs and spoken word. At Earth Center, they make you study it for a year as well as ither things, before they give you your Kem name lol.

Yeah I would love to do it too! Earth Center hosts trips to Kemetic villages In Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso once a year and travel to different monuments around Africa. I plan on joining the next one.

Oh I see. From what I can gather after googling KO, it's far more modern and fluid in it's ways, where as Earth Center Of Maanu, is more...old...traditional in it's ways rather. Two very different takes coming from very different places. Very Interesting indeed. It's nice to meet you :).

    Multiple System
I and several of my other system members are Kemetic. We did once take the course offered by the Kemetic Orthodoxy some years ago and completed it (and so are technically Remetj). While our normal daily ritual is senut, we share similar beliefs to KO, etc we don't consider ourselves necessarily of that branch of Kemeticism. Perhaps some of our distance from KO is due to the religion's official view of multiplicity (last time we were around anyway). Plus, some of us have ended up with Kemetic names from personal experiences which aren't connected to nor would be recognized to KO.

I have very frequently looked into Kemeticism and its various branches as I'm one of those people who's been fascinated by the mythology of Ancient Egypt since I was little and been drawn to it in ways I can't explain. I'd never heard of Kemetic Orthodoxy until this thread however but it's something I believe I'll be looking into now! ^^

Hello there! The OP knows me already, but I am also with the Kemetic Orthodoxy!
I am Tawa'ubastmut, Bast-Mut's solider. Daughter of Bast-Mut and beloved of Mafdet and Heru-sa-Aset.

We'd love for the curious ones to check the beginners class out! There's no obligation to do anything afterwards, but it's good if you want to understand what this is all about.
