As was hinted when Kinnect shutdown, something was in the works to replace it that better aligned with our needs. That something has finally materialized in the form of the Kinmunity IRC network. While there have been many incarnations of IRC networks serving the therianthropy community over the years, to my knowledge none served the general alterhuman (or otherkin, for that matter) community. This fact, along with our internal needs have led us to create Kinmunity IRC (

  • The IRC network, services, webchat, and web services panel are now online and feature complete.
  • The official site is still being worked on. We intend to create a lot of documentation and guides to help those new to IRC jump in! For those experienced with IRC, we're using InspIRCd and Anope services and all the fun modules that come with them. For those new to IRC:

Did you know that not only could you create your own channels (chatrooms), but can manage them in a much more advanced way as opposed to Discord or other closed platforms? We'll be posting some guides on how to take advantage of these features soon!

[*]Registration on Kinmunity IRC through NickServ is handled separately from registration on our forums.

  • This is an intentional design decision; we've experimented with integrated login but felt it was best to host Kinmunity IRC as its own service. Existing IRC users don't necessarily intend to post on forums.

Our official lobby is #kinmunity, would you care to join us?
