(We kept failing at doing an introduction, so we ended up doing a fill-out set-up. Some people are not mentioned/introduced either due to being shy or still doubting. Or both.) Feel free to ask us any questions. (Seriously. We love questions.) Name: Cavern-Risen Species and source: garou, a kind of werewolf like those from Werewolf The Apocalypse Description of species: Her coat color is black and she has several deformities (due to being what the game calls a "metis" and "Black Spiral Dancer") which include overly long front digits, some misplaced & enlarged teeth, a shortened tail, a bat-like nose, and large bat-like ears. Discovery of being fictionkin: Has identified as a werewolf since we were little, but did not come across the White Wolf game in detail (enough to notice similarities) until we were in our mid 20s. Essay?: Way Of This Werewolf (warning: 24+ pages long) --- Name: Miuhsra Species and source: "Named" from the series Books of the Named series (also called Ratha and the Named series) Description of species: An off-white/cream/light gray cheetah-like feline that is highly social with slight saber teeth. Discovery of being fictionkin: Has identified as a feline since we can remember and concluded she was some kind of prehistroic feline in our early teens. We ran across the book series by Clare Bell by chance in our early 20s but it took several books in for Miushra to begin to accept her similarity to the Named. Essay?: Comparing One Name to the Named --- Name: Ebony Species and source: Thestral from the Harry Potter series. Description of species: Basically he's a black insanely thin three-toed horse with bat-like wings and a dragon-like mouth (compete with sharp teeth). Discovery of being fictionkin: He actually identified as and we recognized him as he is before Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was published. When we finally got around to reading the book we noticed similarities, and things just went from there. Essay?: Fangs Flesh and Flight --- Name: Holo Species and source: "wheat-wolf/wisewolf" from Spice and Wolf. ("Wise-wolf comes from the anime/manga, but "wheat-wolf" is the mythical name for the spirit.) Description of species: She has two forms: one an elephant sized white and brown wolf, and the other human with long brown/red hair with both wolf ears and a tail. Discovery of being fictionkin: She never discovered she was a fictionkin. It has always been a given. Our system was abused by someone in our early 20s who was obsessed with Holo from Spice and Wolf and sometime after we got away from him, she began appearing in our system. She is our only known for sure trauma-caused headmate. (Almost everyone else in our system is not really known if they are trauma-caused, or what.) Essay?: She is currently working on one. It's about four pages long right now, but she still has a lot she wants to discuss. What is making it had to describe her identity is due to her being a known trauma-created headmate. --- Name: Dash Species and source: The Dash from Cardcaptors (Sort of...?) Description of species: Dash looks like someone took a Rüppell's fox and made him blue with a diamond marking on his head, etc. Discovery of being fictionkin: He's been around since our preteen years at least but sadly this is around the time the series Cardcaptors was around. So we don't know for sure if he was around before the series aired. What makes it more confusing is that while he looks like Dash (and is named such) he acts like a Rüppell's fox and he more identifies as a fox. So his identity seems like a bit of a mess. Essay?: No. He's a child headmate and wouldn't really describe his identity enough to write an essay himself. --- Name: Ace Species and source: Tiger (not the feline kind) from the Monster Rancher franchise Description of species: Blue and white wolf-like creature the size of a tiger with a mane and angled horns. Discovery of being fictionkin: He has been around since we can remember but his species does appear in the anime Monster Rancher which was around during our earliest memories of anything. So we don't know if he was around before we knew of the series. However, he (and the rest of his subsystem) has been around ever since. Essay?: No, and isn't sure if he will write one as Knives's essay would cover much of what he would say. --- Name: Knives Species and source: Cabalos from the Monster Rancher franchise Description of species: Purple wolf-like creature with scales instead of fur (only fur is a mane and bushy tail) and angled horns. Discovery of being fictionkin: He has been around since we can remember but his species does appear in the anime Monster Rancher which was around during our earliest memories of anything. So we don't know if he was around before we knew of the series. However, he (and the rest of his subsystem) has been around ever since. Essay?: Currently working on one. It's got a long way to go though. --- Name: Page Species and source: Rover from the Monster Rancher franchise Description of species: white and born wolf-like creature with mane Discovery of being fictionkin: She has been around since we can remember but her species does appear in the anime Monster Rancher (for a few seconds) which was around during our earliest memories of anything. So we don't know if she was around before we knew of the series. However, she (and the rest of her subsystem) has been around ever since. Essay?: Has thought about it, but hasn't decided if she ever will. (Plus some of her rational for her labels will be explained if Knives finishes his) --- Name: Joker from the Monster Rancher franchise Species and source: Bargest Description of species: wolf-like creature with wolf skull for head, yellow curved horns, a gray mane, a gray upper body, and a lower body that is red with black strips. Discovery of being fictionkin: He's been around since we can remember; however unlike the rest of his subsystem, his species never appeared in the anime called Monster Rancher. His species only appears in a few of the games which we've never played. We didn't even discover his species appeared in games until we went searching for other wolf-like monsters from the series wondering if any looked like him. (Which didn't happen until we were in our early 20s.) Essay?: No. (We don't really trust with the front.) --- Name: Quval Species and source: Bronze fire lizard from the series Dragonriders of Pern (Until recently used to call his species "dragonet" and "dragonfly" and still getting used to calling his species fire lizard.) Description of species: He is a domestic cat-sized little bronze colored lean dragon with a forked tail and bat-like wings. Discovery of being fictionkin: We've known about him since we can remember and started calling his species "dragonfly" during our preteens due to being such a little cute dragon-like creature. Then we picked up the Dragonriders of Pern series because we wanted to read some books with dragons in it and in the second book discovered creatures like Quval. Several books later of trying to prove he wasn't, lead us to concluded the label of fire lizard fictionkin fit. Essay?: Currently being worked on. Right now has about three pages done, but still is ironing out some details he wants to explore more. --- Name: Eliask Species and source: Blue watch-wher from the series, Dragonriders of Pern (Still isn't to savvy on being called a watch-wher and still prefers the terms he used to call himself when we were growing up - "drake" or "gargoyle.") Description of species: He basically looks like a cow-size blue dragon with short-ish legs, short tail, two digit feet, and small wings with a head like a cross between a pit-bull and a dragon with large eyes. He's species is very nocturnal. Discovery of being fictionkin: He's been around since we can remember. He got the idea of calling his species "gargoyle" for the longest time (due to lack of a better term) thanks to the series, Gargoyles (The series as a character called Bronx which he thought his species vaguely looked like that character's species.) Then about a year ago we decided to read the, Dragonriders of Pern series... and discovered several of our members share a lot of traits with several of the draconic creatures in the series. We waited to make conclusions until we read enough books to get enough details about watch-whers but upon doing so we discovered just how similar his species is compared to watch-whers. Essay?: Currently in progress. Right now very rough. --- Name: Titus Species and (possible) source: Red dragon Description of species: Titus is a huge old red dragon that looks exactly like the red dragons from the Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game. So much so he has questioned if he counts as fictionkin because of that. He knows the physical similarity is spot on between them and himself, but hasn't gone in-depth (yet) to see how much their behaviors match his own thus why he hasn't decided if he is fictionkin or not. Discovery of being fictionkin: Somehow we didn't learn of Dungeons and Dragons until we were in our late teens, but never learned much about it outside of "it's a fantasy roleplaying game." When while searching for images of dragons that looked like Titus some years ago we came across an image of a red dragon from the game, realized how exact it was and have been wondering ever since. Essay?: No. Again, feel free to ask questions. Really. We like questions.
