Pretty! I live in Townsville which is a somewhat large somewhat small city in Queensland, Australia. There's a lot of palmtrees and frangipanis and big wooden houses with wide decks and loovers (the traditional Queenslander). We also have lots of beach.

Wait- is there like Australian foods or something you've never tried because you live in Germany? Have you ever had Vegimite? Oh my god, we should totally have an accent war. Although that doesn't really seem like your thing. Dawndust or Kirby or Mav will be up for it though.

@Evernight That sounds nice. I would send pictures of my favourite spots around here but I am not comfortable to give my exact location.

Edit : what is an accent war?

An accent war? Well it's basically a fight between American English, British English and Australian English, about what we call things and how we pronounce things. I just call it an accent war because... idk. It's fun.

For Example:
B - I'm sitting on my sofa right now in my trousers
Au - TMI AND COUCH. IT'S A COUCH.
Am - YES! COUCH LOVERS ASSEMBLE!
B - SOFA. WHAT ON EARTH IS A COUCH?
Au - The thing your sitting on. In your shorts.
Am - Pants.
Au - Shorts.
B - Trousers
Au - SHORTS!
Am - Lorry
Au - Truck
Am - Lorry
Au - Truck
B - TROUSERS.
Au - Were talking bout trucks silly! We moved on from the clothing incident
B - Oh. Then it's a (I dunno what British people call trucks)
Au - It's a truck. Y'all stupid.
Am - Oh what so now it's shorts and trucks? That's not fair!
Au - We don't play by the rules when people who say 'toon-a' are involved
Am - What do you mean 'toon-a'? That's how you say it
Au - I think you'll find it's 'tuuune-a' With a long u sound.
B - Does it really matter?
Au - YES
Am - VERY MUCH SO
Au - Who says 'very much so'?
Am - ME

And so on and so forth.

Well, neither of it is my mother tongue and our schools are teaching Oxford English only. Any other vocabularly is self learned via movies, books and series.

It's so weird seeing trees in the desert... Like I know there are, but never having seen an actual desert you go off what is portrayed in media which is generally a lot of shrubs and sand and sun.

Ok, so accent war it is. Which English are you going for? I'm rooting for Australian English (obviously).

Yeah well technically I live in a weird desert because we are at higher elevation than most.

What sports does everyone do? Random question but like y know.

I do basketball (Which I started this year) and before the end of last year (the I finally quit because of some horrible people) I was playing netball, which I played for 6 years altogether, 6 in club, 2 years in inter-school and 1 year a year-long tournament (which we won). Even though I've stopped doing it, I still really love the sport, however have found basketball to be a lot more fun, welcoming and exciting so I'm going to stay on with it instead (after 6 years, netball goy a little repetitive). I also do horse-riding once a week (for leisure although I'm considering competition), and it's my second year doing it now. It's probably my favourite sport that I do.

Unofficial sports (sporty activities I do for fun) are roller-blading, skateboarding, tree climbing and running.

I roller skate and I walk but I don’t really do any official sports anymore. They aren’t fun to me. I do like to watch them sometimes though.

Australia buddy. It goes summer (December to February), autumn (March to May), winter (June-August) and then spring (September to November). Oh and, winters not cold here. Snow is not part of a Queenslanders vocabulary. And then summer is like getting baked in an oven. Like, what great weather to go outside in let alone spend your 8 week holiday in, right? Not. Not at all.
I cannot recall if ever mentioned but I am Australian too! Nice to meet another like minded Australian.
My memory is... terrible these days. Not sure if it's because of shifting or something else.
Yesterday I paid for my lunch at a bakery.. then went to pay again 5 seconds afterwards.

That's so cool! Another person who understands the seasons and actually knows what vegimite is! You should join me when I start an accent war (American English vs Australian English vs British English).
