I said two sentences and you somehow managed it in two words. You should get an award or something.

Laying awake in bed, I heard the toilet flush.

I live alone.

I had a very strong phantom shift today. Then I shut my tail in the car door. 

 

[Timbrilsom]

She asked why I was breathing so heavily.

I wasn’t.

 

[Nilda]

(Expanding on my old one)
I heard the horn blown.

But when I found it, it was broken.

I heard my dog scratching at my bedroom door last night. She passed away 3 weeks ago.

I always thought my cat had a staring problem because she always seemed fixated on my face.  Then one day, I realized that she was always looking just behind me.

I used to be afraid of the dark.

Until the things that lurk in the day scared me more.

Children always seem to be afraid of monsters in their closets.

Then they grow up and realize they are the monsters.

My partner came up behind me to rub my shoulders after an argument.

When I shooed them away, I felt no hands.

I woke up to hear knocking on glass.

At first, I thought it was the window until I heard it come from the mirror again.

When I came home, the leftovers I was counting on in the fridge were half eaten.

I don't live with or near anybody.

I need to get a new alarm clock.

It only rings when someone I know is about to die.
