Humorous Misheard words in songs.

I don't know whether this fits here or what, however after listening to some of my favorite songs; I noticed.

On YouTube videos, the lyrics are generally different than what I had perceived,

Most if not all of what I had come up was rather, meh. Weird.

A few were,

Gorillaz- feel good, I thought they were saying 'Milk Dud'. ._. As well as 'Santa's breaking down on a camels back' and another that is a bit inappropriate to state. >.<

Fallout Boy- My songs know what you did in the dark- It sounds like they are saying,

'Ham- chicken- ham- chicken- ham- ham- chicken- banana' in the beginning, perhaps I was hungry when I clicked on that song but that is what I heard. Lol.

As well as a few others, however I am starting to get lazy,

What are some misconceptions you have had with song lyrics?

:)

I thought for ages that in the song The Mighty Fall by Fall Out Boy, that they said 'swallow the cheese' for ages. And then of course I looked at a lyric video and it was 'swallow the key', which makes more sense. xD

In Rihanna's Shine bright like a diamond I heard in my mother tongue "Here comes the spider"

In another song instead of Saviour of song I heard Hide your red son.

We had a few I'm our time. Like the song don't go chasing waterfalls by tlc, our aunt thought it was don't go Jason waterfalls and that it was about a woman who was trying to keep her son home.

Also

. Enjoy.

Hot Mess by Cobra Starship. Apparently it doesn't say "Summer in the ice fields", it says "Stumbling but yeah you're still". I hate it just a wee bit when my misheard lyrics are more poetic than the actual ones...

I was confused about almost the entirety of the lyrics to Superfast Jellyfish by Gorillaz. i can't remember exactly what I thought the lyrics were but after looking the actual lyrics up I'm not sure which are weirder. The ones the my mind assumed or the actual lyrics. :/

Yeah, that song is pretty strange, but I enjoy it.

My misheard lyrics come from "Walking on the Sun" by Smash Mouth. The real lyrics are: "It's just like any fad, it retracts before impact." I thought they were saying, "It's just like getting fat, it retracts before and back." This is just one of several parts of that song I got wrong.

In a couple of cases getting lyrics wrong affected my post titles. I was a little bit confused about "Crawling in the Dark" by Hoobastank, for example. At first I thought they said, "So when and how will I know?" But later I read that it was supposed to be "So when it comes, will I know?" Turns out I was right the first time.

Can never forget Credence Clearwater Revival and the good old "I see the bathroom on the right" mixup.

One of my most recent ones, and I think I improved the lyrics... ;)

"Well I dug my keys into the side

Of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive

Carved my name into his legacy~"

Ooh I had that with Kingdon for a Heart by Sonata Arctica. When I was a bit new to their music this song was a bit faster then what I listened before. Due also English not being my native language I didnt really hear well a few times what they were singing. So I thougt what is originally '' Id give a kingdom'' they sang ''I give a dingdong''. And what is originally '' I would give a kingdom for one more day'' was ''I would give a dingdong for one more day''.

With their song the Last Amazing Grays I thought they sang The Last Amazing Gays when I heard the song for the first time.

San Sebastian: I thought they sang Son of San Sebastian while it was Sun of San Sebastian.

Black Sheep: I thought they sang temple of the Wii. Is also featured in an misheard lycris video.

Yeah when hearing SA songs for the first time back then it didnt go well understanding the lyrics But to mix it up I also had it with some other bands.

Power and Glory by Powerwolf: In power and dory. Dont ask why I heard that.

Voyage by Timeless Miracle: The violin harassed by cashing strings makes the devil dance tonight. Is actually: ''The violin carassed by passion strings makes the devil dance tonight.''

Last to finish it. Son of a Wolf by Powerwolf: Sun of a wolf.

Their old stuff is especially fast, and I never actually went back and checked the lyrics I sing to them. :D But it's adorkable, and awesome, even if melancholy.

It's when they "mess up" their own lyrics, though, that's the best.

One live performance of Black Sheep, the lyrics are (due to fluffbunnies on P2P at the time):

We're not Iron Maiden and we're not from England

We are Sonata and we come from Finland...

(The Cage is an amazing song, and easily one of my favorites. So is Ain't Your Fairytale and Misplaced. They're easily one of my favorite bands.)
