My answer:

  • No; when I've done some New Year's resolutions, I procrastinated too much to start that I gave up.

I haven't really made any and honestly don't plan on it. I usually make the joke 'my goal is to not die '. :p

Never really seen the point to be honest, not really my cup of tea. I'd rather set up various goals throughout the year rather than a 'new year's resolution' but to each their own.

I've given up on making New Years resolutions for reasons that are too depressing to list. Even if I didn't have the aforementioned reasons I still wouldn't because

  1. I can never think of a resolution worth making
  2. On the few occasions that I could think of a resolution, life got in the way and I feel bad for not following through

So, yeah, no resolutions for me.

I never usually pay this odd ritual any heed, but I'm going to try it this year and this is what they are going to be:

  1. Continue to work on increasing my confidence.
  2. Try to delve further into my religion and get better a understanding of it.
  3. Find a job and start saving up.

I generally don't bother with new year's resolutions. I set goals when I feel they are necessary.

My new years resolution for the past couple of years has been the same. Become a better artist and a better person. While the art seems to be improving, I'm not sure whether or not I am improving that much.

In Sweden we call it nyårslöften.

I never make any New Year's resolution.

But I'm still thinking about it if I should, I will post again if I can think of anything.

Just like some of the others in this thread, I don't make New Year's resolutions – I prefer setting short-term goals rather than long-term ones since I have more of an incentive to try and achieve them. Although being the nerd I am, I sometimes say my New Year's resolution is 1920x1080. :P

Ooooh @kiror wow I didn't know the forum could do that that's really useful.

My resolution is to finish my novel; can't talk about plot details here since I like to keep my identity as otherkin private and away from the rest of my stuff on the internet, but it's cool. There are dragons. I'm hoping I won't procrastinate this time around, I have that overwhelming sensation of 'this really needs to be finished'.

I don't usually make new year's resolutions, but I do have one for 2016 and while simple on paper I'm not sure how it's going to play out in the real world: Find a better job. My current factory based job is too much for me and I need something closer and less hectic, so I'm hoping the new year will bring fresh perceptions and I'll be able to land something more doable. If I'm really lucky I hope I can land a job with a local gaming or animation company, but I'm not holding my breath for that, heh.

Here's to a new year full of new experiences and a brighter future~!

Oh, it was fun to read a swedish word in the middle of the english, I laughed, thanks :D

I will not have any. I had like "not eat candy" once when I was a kid just because friends had that and they where promised money if they stuck to it. I lasted like, uh, not so long. I love candy too much and I didn't really do it for myself, mostly just because everybody else had one, so I didn't really try to keep it. I understand people who find it motivating with a new beginning and all but I personally don't make a "New Year's promise" (as the swedish translation would be :p) just because it is a new year :)

I don't really have a New Years resolution but I have a few things I want to achieve next year and ongoing after that, they are;

1. Learn to speak/understand German fluently, I have a basic understanding of the language but want it to be better.

2. Swim/gym at least 4 times a week.

3. Worry less.

4. Meditate more.

5. Spend more time at the UK Wolf Conservation Trust and maybe even volunteer there.

6. Get my job sorted so I no longer need to work weekends.

7. Eat healthier and make more adventurous fruit smoothies.

Some of them are just small things but I do want to focus on them starting from next year.

I made some new years resolutions!

1. If I'm going to eat candy it must be once a week if I break this I have to wait two weeks to eat candy next time. (candy addict)

2. I'm going to cook my own dinner at least once a day.

3. I'm going to start practicing Rally Obedience with my dog.

4. I'm going to teach him to come back to me on command without fails. (high demands since his breed has like a 50/50 chance on listening)
