KinCash Updates & More (05/09/16)

Updates

We happily present to all of our members, the first site update since the incident on May 1st. This update brings the following changes:

  • The KinCash shop is fully restocked; there's more items in it than there have ever been!
  • The old default light skin has been installed and configured, it is called "Cold Mountains".
  • The Bazaar is back!
  • Multiple bugs have been fixed.

We are still working on the following:

  • Default Blog Categories
  • Emoticons/Smilies
  • Various forms
  • Bug fixes

KinCash Recovery

Users who meet certain criteria are able to have their bones recovered. In a recovery operation, a Kinmunity staff member will manually apply missing bones to your account. Claims will be processed in the order in which they are received, and it may take up to two weeks to process recovery claims. Users must meet the following criteria to submit a claim:

  • must have made a purchase on Kinmunity or a donation to Kinmunity at least once.
  • must have been a user of Kinmunity prior to 05-01-2016. Users who have had to recreate their account after the incident still qualify.
  • must fill out the recovery form accurately, honestly, and to the best of your ability.

You have until 06/25/2016 to make a claim!

If we make a purchase now, but had not made any purchases prior to the server crash, are we still eligible to apply for bones recovery?

If you purchase one of our bones packages, I will be willing to allow a recovery operation if you had an account before the cutoff date. That goes for all users.

Ah, thank you for the updates and working so hard to get things back up and running. :)

So glad to have the light theme back as well. :) My eyes didn't cope well with the dark.

I know I had quite a few bones...but haven't been able to afford to spend actual money...shame that only those people who did will get them back.

Unfortunately, because it is a manual process to restore bones to a user account and we had over one thousand users with bones who may have made claims, we had to limit them in some way. We ultimately decided the best way was to allow users who have made financial contributions to the site submit a claim. This is because users who purchased bones are entitled to those bones anyway, and we could also use this time to thank users who donated to the site. If we had a current bones backup, we would have restored to all users.
