Weird, but rather clever thoughts.

I don't know if you guys have had some thoughts that sound weird, but if you use your logic and explain them everyone will see that it's not so weird.

In my case is that when I was young I thought the factories (and cars) that pollute the sky made night, because it was a rather dark smoke and quite a lot of it. And that at night less cars and factories would be active because they were all sleeping, clearing the sky and making day.

So what weird-clever thoughts have you had?

Even to this day, I've always thought a trampoline would make an awesome bed. The reason why? When you lay on a trampoline, the stretchy material shapes to you. Plus, there is air flow, and I can't stand heat when I sleep. On top of that, you could jump on it when you get bored.

So, how would this work? Get one of those square trampolines that are about the size of a bed, cover the springs and metal sidings with water noodles (cut up to fit sizes) and if you're still not happy, but some sheets over it. Boom. The most comfortable bed in the world.

I had the idea of using a simple clockwork device to create a perpetual motion machine. The idea was to attach magnets to two cogs so that they would be drawn together, but as they turn they would lift a counterweight which would turn the cogs, and separate the magnets to start it over again. (I have a slight penchant for clockwork, and I end up doing silly things like that when I get bored).

This idea in and of itself is where it's clever, now is where it gets weird. So you know how flipbooks work? I had a ton of still shots of Snoop Dogg doing that one dance lying around, (don't ask me why), but they added up to make a flipbook. (It was only about 2 inches tall, mind you). I eventually turned this perpetual motion machine into a Rube Goldberg that did nothing but make Snoop Dogg dance. Boredom breeds the weirdest forms of creativity.

I think you just discovered how to make the first animated wall picture... You know, how people have paintings on their walls. Except, it moves...I want one now ouo

More or less, but stuff like that has been done before. It was pretty simple, mostly just using the gears to generate torque, but using counterweights to start it in the first place. If you have the big counterweight attached to a big gear which turns a smaller gear, then you can get a lot of revolutions out of a simple act of knocking a 2 or 3 pound weight off of a table.

I always wondered why we didn't generate electricity by sticking a bunch of solar panels around some light bulbs.

...Weird idea, but not particularly clever lol. I guess the fact that light bulbs use electricity too kind of slipped my mind. :P
