Possible track of a wolf

I post a new thread for speak about our discovery of a track of a possibly european wolf! (I live in Southeast of France)

Me and my friend, a Mountain lion therian, we walked in the countryside to show to my friend my village and surrounding area. When we arrived next to the ruins of the castle, we saw canid footprints. A track was made on the way ! A very straight track! Moreover, the hind legs were asked in the footprints of foreleg. the length of the footprint of the foreleg was longer than the hind paw... Like a wolf!

Between two marks there were about 40 cm. The footprint of the hind leg was about 7-8 cm and the footprint of the foreleg was about 9-10 cm.

We assume that this is a wolf or a wolf-dog hybrid.

It is so exciting to track species of our kintype! And with my friend who can have a wolf kintype!

Here are some pictures:

I colored with Gimp footprints to better visualize the track.

the track in the gravel/ the sloping track

and the track in the mud

a footprint with my hand to compare the size/ and another footprint (where we can see the the hind leg inside the footprint of the foreleg)

Oh, that is neat.

(You should have a side-by-side so that we can see the colored tracks alongside unaltered ones.)

What a lovely find :)

I would also like to see the uncoloured photos if possible.

That looks pretty awesome. It'd be great to see if you (or anyone) could put up some motion-detection cameras around to see if you could catch any glimpses of the wolf/dog.

Magic: I would like to put up some motion-detection cameras around but there are many hunters in this season ... The passage is too busy :/. I did not want to make me steal hardware or attract the attention of hunters who have not yet noticed the footprints. but that would be a solution...

To compensate, I will send the pictures to a wolf conservation association, I'm adherent. They may tell me if it is a wolf.

Spiritual hunters: Thank you! :)

Those are really awesome photos. Huge footprints. I've never been lucky enough to see Wolf footprints in the wild, but have tracked Coyotes before. Neat find! I hope you are able to find more. That would be fantastic!
